Example of industry (shipping) related analysis: the figure illustrates the impact of environmental conditions (satellite data / ocean model) on a marine vessel speed (Automatic Identification System) with possible implications on fuel consumption. This analysis has been performed in the context of the “seed funding” Technology Transfer program at GEOMAR, Kiel – project “geolocation”, 2016 (lead : Olaf Duteil)
